About Our Institution

Vivekananda Polytechnic, Puttur, a premier institution under Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha (formerly known as Puttur Education Society), was established in 1986–87 with approval from the Government of Karnataka (Order No. ED 39 MPI 86 dated 18.04.1986).

Since its inception, the institution has been committed to delivering quality technical education and nurturing skilled professionals. Located at Nehru Nagar, just 3 km from Puttur town along the Madikeri–Mangaluru State Highway. The polytechnic campus stands amidst scenic greenery and serene surroundings. The peaceful, pollution-free environment offers an ideal setting for academic excellence and personal growth.

Vivekananda Polytechnic was founded to meet the growing demand for technical education in the region. Its mission is to provide high-quality instruction, practical exposure, and career-oriented learning in line with industry needs. The institution ensures that students receive systematic training, industrial orientation, and placement support to help them build successful careers.
The dedicated Placement Cell guides students in exploring job opportunities and assists final-year students in gaining placements with leading organizations. The polytechnic offers five diploma programs with an intake of 60 students each:
