There lies a profound principle, a noble purpose, and an exemplary vision behind the founding of Vivekananda College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Puttur, by the Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha in 1965 at Puttur. The college was established with the aim of inculcating the spirit of nationalism, fostering a sense of pride and responsibility among our students.

During a period when our traditions and belief systems faced possible challenges, a group of scholars and thinkers from the region took the initiative to create an educational institution that would uphold these values.

It is our duty to strive for the betterment of the institution and to impart quality education for all, including those who come from rural backgrounds.

About Our Institution

With immense pleasure and pride we present ourselves as the Premier Institution of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha (V.V.S.) formerly known as Puttur Education Society (P.E.S.) which has almost a century’s history having been established in 1915 itself. Vivekananda College of Arts, Science and Commerce – recently elevated to the status of Autonomous College, presents itself as an educational institution striving for excellence with holistic approach. Vivekananda College was established in 1965 and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2015. These 60 years of fruitful existence has been a saga of planning and implementing; building and rebuilding; growth and progress; introspection and celebration.
